Famous Cities of the World: Shanghai

Shanghai is also known for its hairy crab (which is hairless). Fans flock from far around during the crab season in October/November. Shanghai is well known not only as a city possessing abundant talent reserves, but also as one gathering talents from both at home and abroad. Some 50 universities and colleges are located in Shanghai, with the number of students exceeding 330,000. Shanghai is an ideal "paradise for shoppers". There, shops stand rows upon rows with large collections of beautiful commodities, meeting the needs of tourists of different levels.

Shanghai is a commercial center and China’s most important transportation hub. Home to over 3,500 banks and the country’s largest stock exchange, it is also one of China’s leading financial centers. Shanghai is 14 million, if you don’t count the migrants. Negotiating the crowd is about absolutely ignoring it except to avoid a collision at the last moment. Shanghai is an ideal "paradise for shoppers". In Shanghai, one can have a taste of all the delicacies in the world.

Shanghai is China's biggest port city. Since the Opium War and the opening of the five ports to foreign trade, it was thronged by traders from all over the world and was densely populated by the Chinese and foreigners, and the city became thriving and prosperous. Shanghai is particularly renowned for its vegetarian dishes. Shanghai is China’s most important port, commercial hub, and industrial center. Shanghai has hot, rainy summers and dry, cool winters.

Shanghai is well developed in communications by land, water and air. There are over 40 Chinese and foreign air companies opening about 300 air routes dispatching from Shanghai. Shanghai is not just a city where East mixes with the West, but where East mixes with East. Shanghai is one of the most bustling cities of China. The city offers a host of lodging options suiting a diverse budget type. Shanghai is situated at the delta of the Yangtze River, guarding the gateway of the Yangtze River in the north, facing the sea in the east and bordering the scenic city of Hangzhou Bay in the south. It is one of the six best travel sites in China.

There are no such big events in my memory. Shanghai is not only China's largest city and primary shipping port, it is also the most developed and modern city in the country. The rapid development of the 'Paris of the East' is due to its unique geographical location at the mouth of China's largest waterway, the Yangzi (Changjiang) River.

Shanghai’s industrial products rank the best in quality in China. Shanghai is where all the cool kids in China choose to live and where they have perfected the art of balancing western and eastern traditions with brilliant results. Shanghai is the most international and cosmopolitan city in China. This city on the east coast, known as the "Pearl of the East", captivates visitors from all countries.
